First, here is Inc. Magazine's latest cover story about an internet millionaire who works one hour a day and makes $10 million a year: http://www.inc.com/magazine/20090101/and-the-money-comes-rolling-in.htmlAnd here's a letter I wrote to Inc. yesterday:
I found your cover story on internet millionaire Markus Frind a bit irresponsible. Frind often works less than 10 hours a week and doesn't know what to do with his free time...c'mon, what purpose does a story like that serve your hard working entrepreneurial readers who are "getting there" via the more traditional route - slowly but surely?
Don't get me wrong - I admire Frind's accomplishments, and believe that what he has achieved is extraordinary, but especially in these tough times, why not instead glorify those who have built a solid business over years of hard work? I think it would send a much better message than the one conveyed by the internet millionaire fairytale we've gotten so used to reading about.
