On-Hold Messaging Association (OHMA)

We just got back from the OHMA conference in Atlanta, Georgia. OHMA is the On-Hold Messaging Association, an organization that brings together on-hold companies to elevate the standards of our industry, share ideas, and keep abreast of the latest happenings in technology. It was a great conference! It was great meeting fellow on-hold companies, seeing the vendors who supply the on-hold equipment, and learning new ways to improve our service.

If you’re considering an on-hold service, look for the OHMA seal! Members of OHMA are part of a quality organization that promotes ethics in business, industry standards, and making the on-hold industry better.

This is the Time to Network!

Personal Networking should always be a part of your marketing plan, but now more than ever this is THE time to get out there and network!  Join your local chamber, or referral group such as BNI.  BNI is the largest referral and business networking organization in the world.  

What I like so much about this organization is its core philisosphy: Givers Gain.  In other words, give genuinely, and eventually it will come back to help you.  BNI has an exclusivity rule, so only one person per profession is allowed. They have weekly meetings where referrals are passed around, and encourage you to have one-to-one meetings with your fellow members, to help you get to know eachother better and be better able to send eachother referrals.

Looking for the Ability to Update Your Website Yourself?

Have you ever wondered if it was possible to have a site created for you that would allow you to update the content yourself?  Well, it is possible!  At Watt Media, we can create a site for you that will include the ability to update text and even pictures yourself.

This feature isn’t for everyone, though.  If your site is extremely rich in graphic design or has a complex layout, it is difficult to give you control over editing that.  Keep in mind, the more control we give you, the more you can potentially mess up also.  If you don’t need to update your site often, and maybe need quarterly updates or even less, then it’s better to leave the changes to us.  But if your site requires weekly changes, then you’d benefit from a content management system.

We’d provide you with a back-end login, and you’d be able to change text and pictures on each page.  Changes are limited to a fixed layout, but you can change text and the pictures as often as you’d like.  This is ideal if you need to update a calendar of events, schedule or have new items or promotions.
